I had a horrible case of oral thrush about a week after surgery. I was on liquid Nystatin and that did the trick. I think it happens...get treated....you'll feel better.

It happened to me as well

  • 3 weeks later...

I still have it a month later, nystatin really didn't do anything and I stopped using it. It's very annoying, supposed to see surgeon tomorrow for another follow up tomorrow so I'll see what he says. The first time I saw him he didn't act like it was a big deal or offer anything to correct it. Had to go to PCP. Keeping my fingers crossed it will go away. Tried several things with no luck yet. Still on full liquids. Don't know if that's part of the problem or not.

It happened to me. I know they gave me a couple of bags of antibiotics in the IV so I assumed that is what caused mine. A couple of days after returning home I noticed white patches on my tongue. Feeling better now.
