How long after surgery did it take you to go poo? I am two days post op and have gurgling in my gut but no "action" When do I start to worry about it?

My surgeon told me and my husband to take Milk of Magnesia if we hadn't gone by day 5. Neither one of us had, so we did, and then we did! No problems since, although we did have to start taking a Fiber supplement.

One week. There just isn't much there when you are on fluids only. My second week was 6 days, and now 4 days and I am 3 weeks post op today.

I used be very regular so its definitely different.

Five days. It was my Christmas present . It also took 5 days after my neck fusion surgery. Seems to be my standard postop poo schedule.

5 days. My surgeon had me on stool softeners the first 30days post op. I've been regular since that first poo.
