There is no normal, every program is at least a little different.

Every surgeon is different and you should definitely stick to YOUR plan. I was allowed Protein Shakes at day 4 and pills/vitamins at day 7.

My surgeon said we could start Premier Protein shakes the day after surgery. My NUTs program said only Clear liquids the first week but my surgeon made an exception for Premier and a couple of ProtiDiet Soups.

If you need clear Protein many folks like Isopure. I used the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates which are clear.

I was given Protein shakes in the hospital as approved by my surgeon. My plan goes like this: 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks puree, then i can start introducing solid foods. I was also advised to take my medicine as long as its smaller than a pencil eraser... which reminds me... i need to take my Vitamins today. :)

I was able to do shakes out of the hospital. About less than a week just liquids, now I'm 4 weeks on puréed foods, 2 weeks soft then solids. It's amazing how all doctors are different with the diet.

I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital unless I could keep down Protein shakes. Day of surgery I got nothing at all. Day 2 I got ice chips and Water after my leak test. Day 3 I got Protein shakes and once I could prove I could drink them I got to go home.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
