heart burn

I am 9 days out on my sleeve surgery I've been having bad heartburn today can I take the prescription omeprazole? Regular antacid didn't work today?

thank you Danielle, for a quick response, all I have is 40mg and can't half, it's a capsule, I'll take it, heartburn doesn't feel good, thank you again :)

Open the capsule and sprinkle granules on apple sauce, etc.

My doctor ordered Nexium daily 40 mg. Its required for me to take it for two months post op. I take the capsule whole since I got home from the hospital with no problems. If I have heartburn after that then I eat a tums.
