Need a June 15, 2015 buddy!

Hi I'm New to the forums, but I've read some of the posts and love the support given! I have my date set for June 15th and I started my 2 wk pre-op eating plan today. So far so good!

I'm going on a date tonight (dinner & movie) and I plan to stick with it! Even if it's just sipping on broth! Lol!

I do wish to find a few good people that share the same date sho we can encourage each other on the life long journey. Please share and let me know what your date is!

Thanks!

Grandma, I know you are very determined to win, with that said weighing your self everyday could be quite depressing, even without wls. Most people I have heard from and I have chose to believe

  • I don't walk but around the corner, or when shopping, but I ride my bike for 15 - 30 min (1.3 - 2 miles. I try daily.

Grandmaofone, Count me in. I'll do what I can for you. I agree Monday is too far away for me too. Brian

Mine was also the 15th. Everything went well. I pretty much slept through Monday with the anesthesia and then walked every hour last night. Walking again today and having Popsicles and ice chips. I get my drain removed tomorrow and my second leak test done. Hope everyone is doing good!

Monday and Tuesday night was ruff. Puking up anything and everything that went in my body. Got to come home yesterday, had slept most of those three days. Today has been better. My right side is so sore!!! I got up and walked around the house for about 10 laps and didn't feel any difference in walking or not. I have tried to stay off all meds to try and stay awake today. Worked except I still took a nap. Getting a little more fluids in everyday. Hope all are doing well!!

Yay! We have buddies! They didn't give me ice chips :-(or popsicle...I got I also got one leak test ( thank God! Nasty stuff!) And I was related yesterday along with the drain removed. Took my 10 minute walk today. I pretty much walked everyday even right after surgery to get to the bathroom.

Went out for the first time today. Temps here are 100 feels like 110-115. So went to a teacher store and walked around for about 30 mins and did fine except for feeling a little weak.

Have been doing really good. Yesterday I took my hubby to Red Robin for lunch for Father's Day. I ordered a cup of soup and ate a few bites but loved being able go out. I am done 13 lbs since surgery a week ago.

I'm doing Ok. get my drain taken out tomorrow can wait.... Still awful bloated feeling not sure what to think of that but I am going to the weight loss center tomorrow for my post surgery nutrition class hopefully get it straightened out tomorrow hope everyone is doing better than I am feeling quite bloated and miserable hope it passes. Great job everyone. Brian

That's why I haven't been on here much just haven't felt very good and a little sorry for myself. Just having a moment. It'll get better I hope... Brian

Brian, I felt that way the night of surgery. I turned to my hubby and asked him what I got myself into. He is a smart man and didn't say anything. I am still a little swollen and very bruised. If you put an ice pack on the larger opening it helps bring down the swelling. That is the first thing I asked for after the ice chips. I have been putting one on since surgery in what ever places I feel tugs, it has helped.

Deep breathing also helps . it helps the lungs grow larger to fill in the empty space so things don't move around so much.

In the nose to a count of 4, hold for a count of seven, and slowly out the mouth for a count of 8.

Thank You I'll give that a try. I do know that deep breaths tends to help with a lot of things I just don't always remember to do it. Thanks for the reminder. Brian

Hey,

I think I gonna live maybe? Feel quite a bit better, between getting my drain out, switch to week two diet, Mira lax, bene fiber, time & a dose of pain med for tolerance I'm feeling better. Yeah so far (knock wood, fingers crossed). ????. Brian

Hi everyone, I like buddies too! Had my surgery on 6/17. First week has been very rough! Very emotional but I think it's getting better now.
