problems with bowel movements

Ok I know its not the best subject to talk about, but I've had very soft stool to almost diarrhea every day, 4-6 times a day. Now I've got hemorrhoids from it and feel very uncomfortable. I went to my family dr, and he gave me a prescription cream for it which helps some. I had my surgery in Mexico so I don't have a bariatric doctor at home yet. Trying to find one to take me for follow up care is a challenge. Anyway, my family dr suggested increasing my fiber, but not sure if that is safe after having a bypass. Anyone have suggestions?

I wish I had some wisdom for you, but I have the opposite problem so badly that I am slightly jealous.

My nut said at 6 weeks I could have Psyllium powder. I got mine at the vitamin shoppe

My doctor said I was fine with taking fiber -- I use Benefiber. It has helped me for sure.

How far out are you ? What phase of eating ? That could have something to do with it.

I am 3 months out from surgery so able to eat regular diet. I eat protein first, followed by veggie of some kind. Rarely do I eat bread or carbs but if I do its in small amounts. I'm sure my diet has something to do with it sine I'm not getting a lot of fiber in it. I'm gonna try adding a fiber supplement and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions.

I only do it twice, one dose in my morning coffee and one dose to V8 at night, it seems to have helped tremendously. I'm also doing a half a dose of miralax a day because I was having a combination of issues. Good luck!
