Hello. I am having my sleeve on July 14th, or so it is scheduled. Hope to have some buddies to go through it with. Any July Sleevers out there?

  • I had my sleeve done yesterday. I've been very sleepy from the anesthesia and in some pain, but it's manageable. Toughest is drinking. I get a cramping sensation and I can feel the air moving around.

I'm nervous too. Maybe because I work in a hospital and have seen the bad more than the good.

I also work in the hospital - it sucks bc the people doing my surgery are people I know (so awkward)! When is your date? Do they do a foley ?

I am having mine on July 20. I am going to ask them to bypass the foley. I am hoping they don't put one in. Lol! I do know my surgeon, but not a whole lot since I work in case management and mostly stay in an office. One of the unit secretaries used my surgeon for her surgery and told him I was coming to see him. Lol...so now he knows me. :)

Me too!! Exactly!

I don't have to do liquids. Just 2 shakes a day and a sensible meal. Lots of protein though.

I have my pre op class on Wednesday. I start my diet on Monday also!

I think we all feel your pain!!! Stick with it and it will pass before you know it!

My surgery is scheduled for July 21. I'm having a revision from the lapband to sleeve. A little nervous but wishing surgery was done already!

My regimen is two protein supplements and 3-5 very small meals, focusing on protein first (i.e. 1 oz of cheese and 3 or 4 grapes). Need to be sure and shrink my liver!

Surgery buddies! Yeah!

Definitely!! Sounds like our regimens are a bit different pre-surgery, but our journeys will still be similar. Is this your first bariatric surgery? @@Bullydog Mom

Yes this is my first See you are a revision @@MaryPh

Mine is just very low carb until the last three days, which are liquid only. I feel lucky about that. Low carb is a breeze by comparison.

Tonight was tough with everyone else eating so much. Kept telling myself I'm doing this for me and there will be lots of other holidays and gatherings to get through, so get used to it. Hoping it's easier after surgery. ????
