Pureed Food

Hello all!

My surgery is on Monday and as I'm looking ahead to my post-op diet restrictions, I am worried about the pureed food stage.

I'm big on texture when it comes to food, so the thought of drinking pureed chicken and rice makes me want to vomit.

What are some foods that you all found worked for you during the puree stage that are the same consistency but AREN'T actually pureed?

Would pudding count? Would mashed potatoes count? Would applesauce count?

I just had mashed potatoes for the first time today. I think I may get Protein powder to add to my foods in the future. I cannot eat a lot yet.

I moved from full liquid to soft foods this week. The first thing I got was pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. Yesterday I had some soft cooked green beans and a mashed up new potato. I just had a scrambled egg. I don't know what your puree requirements are but these might fit. I am still eating a lot of yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, and protein drinks and shakes that are from my clear and full liquid stages.
