14 days b4 surgery. diet begins.

My surgery date is set for the 19th of May but I have a couple of questions. I will ask my doctor but I'm just wondering if anyone knows because I won't see the doctor until the 12th.

I'm starting the liquid diet on the 5th but If I remember correctly I was told to go to Clear liquids before surgery? if so how long? and I smoke so how long before surgery do I need to quit smoking? any information would be helpful. thanks :) :)

The sooner you quit smoking the better you will do post op. The latest you should wait is 24 hours.

I had the sleeve surgery and I was put on a clear liquid diet 2 days before surgery

I'm may 19! Smoking should stop now, the sooner the better which means better healing post op. And you don't want them to detect it in you lab work during pre testing. I have Mt surgeon appt the same say as you! So nervous for all liquids but I bought so much crap to drink hopefully I wont rebel, too much

I am on day 8 of the pre-op diet! It varies with your surgeon but my surgeon says to have clear liquids the day before surgery only and then be NPO after midnight of course. They will most likely call with further instructions soon :') my date is May 11! Good luck! Pre-op diet has been hard for me!
