  1. I don't drink or have a gallbladder. All test were normal preop.
  2. Mine are elevated 1 month and 3month post op. I don't have a gallbladder, is it from the large fat loss your liver is over worked and the elevated Protein intake?
  3. Very good, had my post op 1 week appointment with the nurse and dietitian. I get to start pureed diet today super excited.
  4. My nutritionist told us no to starchy vegetables and carbs until goal weight is met. It can cause dumping and decrease weight loss. I'm surprised to see so many people are allowed to have mashed potatoes, rice, black/brown Beans.
  5. Cellphone and charger, toothbrush and toothpaste, robe, loose clothes and underwear for ride home. Hair ties if you have long hair that kept it out if the way. Slippers or they will provide you with socks if you forget. Everything else wasn't necessary. Be careful on the gas x my doctor would not allow it so check with him or her first.
  6. Things are finally improving. I had a rough first day and half post op. I was walking every 2 hours or more in the hospital and still couldn't get the gas out. I was miserable and afraid of giving up my Morphine PCA. I couldn't get liquids in with pain it felt like the water was making the gas pain worse. The surgeon came to see me about 530 pm and held all my liquids for the night and took my Morpine away started me on my liquid lortab. I started passing gas within 4 hours and was feeling a lot better. I went home 2nd day post op and feel more comfortable at home. I sleep in my recliner because laying flat is too painful. I've increased my clear liquids and can start full liquids tomorrow. The rough start will make me appreciate my successes more and not take the surgery for granted. Feeling blessed that everyday I feel better and improve.
  7. I'm excited and nervous my surgery is first tomorrow am. Prayers please
  8. I was told 5 months to 1 year before alcohol and no beer because the carbonated drinks stretch your pouch.
  9. Sounds like you met the requirements. Maybe check with your surgeons insurance rep. I got my approval prior to starting the program.
  10. Starting my preop diet tomorrow. 2 bariatric advantage shakes, 2 skim or milk unsweetened almond milk or a Greek yogurt. 1 protein snack 1/2 c fruit and 4 oz lean protein with 1-2 cups non starchy veggies. Getting excited
  11. The sooner you quit smoking the better you will do post op. The latest you should wait is 24 hours.
  12. I have my last nutrition class this Thursday and my preop class May 12th. I'll start my diet May 13th. Getting excited and nervous.
  13. Thank you all for the support getting nervous but still super excited.
  14. Exciting news I received my surgery date May 27th.
  15. Keep strong, take your medicine, and know that this will all be ok in a few days.
  16. I thought about being dishonest with everyone regarding my surgeon, but changed my mind and got mixed reactions. The end result with everyone was 100% support and understanding.
  17. I'm just starting the program, and I totally understand. I have been having food "funerals" everyday. My surgery will not be before end of May due to work, but will get strict on myself after Easter. Good luck
