Spanking by mentor

I need to throw this out there now that I've calmed down. My BFF was sleeved four years ago and has been a big help in this journey but I'm a lil over week out and she just blasted me for a bite of french fry and a taste of sugar free fudge. She's sad that I'm even thinking of eating a food like that, i should be just drinking water, i never should have gone near the the boardwalk and I'm just not gonna make it.

Now while she runs marathons and works out, this is from the girl who's eating ice cream and donuts, cake, and more. She's up 10lbs from her goal weight and angry with people that can eat what they want. She's also drinking every night.

She's a "tough" personality anyway but this was shocking. I think she's jealous of my "easy" honeymoon stage, needs to cope with her anger about food, in a possible danger zone with alcohol and it just spewed all over my feeling great.

I'd like feedback on how to deal. I've let go of my pissed off attitude. It's my journey to test limits, to fall down, to get up but i really felt judged. I won't talk to her about any challenges anymore. I'll use the forums here (which she had said i should get off of).

Thanks for letting me vent

Print this out and give it to her. Tell her you're concerned about her but that you also need her support. If she can't give that to you, give yourself some distance. Good luck to you!

She does care about my best interest and i love her to pieces but shredding me wasn't effective. She's tough love and I get it, that's why I didn't fling it back at her. Instead i chose to continue f

Eating out was a bit rough at first because I didn't tell most people about my surgery. I usually just said that I had a big (previous meal), I wasn't hungry, my stomach felt unsettled, etc. All tru

Based just on where you are at in relation to your surgery date, I would stay away from those foods. At this point, its not even about the calories, but your digestive system just can't handle them yet. As you get farther out, its ok to have have a bite of something that you want, but keep it in line with your calories for the whole day. Remember, you got overweight by eating unhealthy foods. Avoid them now while you are adjusting to your new lifestyle. Your friend is probably just trying to help, but I can see how it came across wrong. I have a friend who was sleeved a few years ago, and she is always there to remind me how to be better. Hopefully, your friend is just trying to be supportive. Try not to give into the cravings though. Remember what your goal is and ask yourself if the food you are craving will help you reach that goal.

What you fail to realize is I'd given it up for 6 months prior, struggling with the acid and the doubts and the boardwalk and the social situations. Now I'm on Prilosec and the problem has resolved itself. If your quick judgement is correct then a year from now you can say I told you so if I fail. I doubt you will.

lol, yeah because everyone knows the best way to treat stomach acid is with hot fudge and french fries instead of calling your doctor.

You are only fooling yourself.

@@purrfctangel ... glad you found the acid reducer helpful.

Don't worry about the stall ... just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing. If the scales are making you nuts, put the scales away for a while.

BTW, sounds like your "mentor" is on BP and stalking you. LOL!

I'm about 2 weeks out and I understand the temptations. What I do is drink more water, grab a protein shake or do some more walking and that seems to help. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have thoughts of cheating but I remember that's what got me here and the point of surgery was to help me correct that. Please stick to your diet, if not for your health, but from a healing stand point. I guarantee you couldn't explain this to your surgeon without getting the same reaction as your bff, probably worse.

Stalking is a criminal activity and not at all funny. I'd like to know why you found it appropriate to say this.

Website user disagrees with other website user is not even in the same universe of conduct as stalking.

If i could delete this topic i would. JCG go harass someone else. You're just bullying now. Ive never eaten hot fudge in my life.

You do experiment and learn. Right now I'm in Vegas on full comps and making good choices. Not even craving alcohol. Will spoil myself with spa treatments instead!

Lighten up.

Wow that got way too serious too fast..

Craving's suck and I know all about them, I'm not going to lie I ate a french fry or two at 2 weeks out *Gasp!* and then realized what I did wrong and what I could do differently next time those cravings came up. As long as you realize your mistakes and move on then you'll be successful. Don't worry about what the Negative Nelly's have to say, Do you.
