Protein shakes ????

I am 1 week post op today and I am trying so hard to get my protein in. I am having a hard time .. They taste terrible. Can anyone recommend a brand/flavor ? Also, what were (if any) provisions for premade protein drinks like premier protein, Special K , lite and fit ? Were they permitted ?

Premier protein in chocolate! My favorite to this day and really the only protein I drink! I don't see why pre-made would be an issue ? I only use the pre-made but if you think it will be a problem just ask :)

Every nutritionist will give you different guidelines. My nutritionist required shakes to have:

Minimum of 20 grams of Protein per serving
Less than 8 grams of carbs with less than 2 grams of sugar, and a minimum of 3 grams of fiber
Less than 3 grams of fat
Less than 200 calories per serving, best at 150
whey protein is preferable
I ended up settling on EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control (Rich Dark Chocolate). They only had 17g of protein, so I added a little extra unflavored whey isolate when I could.

Atkins chocolate tastes like chocolate milk to me.

My nutritionist has similar guidelines. Too lazy to look for my handbook, but I think the rules were 20 gms Protein, low carbs and sugar under 8 gms per serving. It also had to be isolates and not concentrates. My own issues were allergies to food dyes, artificial sugars and stevia. Sucrolose was okay for a bit but eventually started irritating me as well. I also can't eat processed foods, so they needed to have minimal ingredients.

I finally settled on Isopure unflavored whey isolate. I then make my own in the nutra bullet with FAGE 0% greek yogurt. I added fresh fruit, almond butter or cacao powder to flavor them.

Premade I like Orgain Organics.

Betty Lou's Low Glycemic Protrin Shake! Gluten and sugar free, 20 g of protein, 180 calories, orange cream. Taste awesome!!

I suggest you buy one of each and don't stock up yet until you find out what brands and favors you like, for chocolate and vanilla I like premier protein you can buy the case at Costco and save $$for more liquid or juice type protein Syntax Nectar has good selection.

Oh Yeah! and premier protein are the best I've found.
