Does water in protein count?

My surgeon wants me to have between 48-60 ounces of water a day and 60g of protein. Although I can't stomach that much protein I do about 25g per day. Now I drink 40 ounces a day of plain water and 8 ounces of water in my protein shake. Would that count as 48 altogether? I know this is probably nitpicking but it's hard getting down all of that! Thanks guys!
