New can anyone answer my question

Hi I'm new here i got an email from my coordinator at my doctors office and said she would be sending my paperwork off to my insurance no later then today. I'm so excited. We are trying to get me in for surgery the first or second week of March. My question is will my insurance get a hold of me with a yes or no or will my doctors office? (Approval or denial) should I call my insurance company? I have assurant health insurance but use Aetna provider list so everyone always says I have Aetna. I'm so beyond ready to have my surgery and start my new life. Thank you in advance for any help you can give

I don't hesitate to call! I knew I was approved within 48 hrs of being submitted. in fact when I called my Ins (BC/BS) the nurse who read over my paperwork had just ok'ed an entered it in the system so when one of the agents I was talking to she looked it up an actually had to look else where an then she read it to me..I was so excited an on pins an needles I had to know I knew I wouldnt be able to sleep! I knew before Ins even faxed the approval code to my surgeons office. once the office recieved the fax I had picked my own date and was on the list in less then 2 wks. it will happen fast from here on out! BEST WISHES..:)

I called the DR office...it took about a week. Then it took another week before the insurance company actually sent me my acceptance letter
