Meals & daily caloric intake

Good evening! I am 7 months out & stuck at 40lbs. I know part of it was my fault - I went off the wagon dec15-jan15 because my knees are killing me!

that being said, I recommitted myself and was taking a look at my diet. I was thinking 1800 calories was good. Reading around, I see many people say 1,000 calories.

so, ask my doctor, right? I called my doctor's office and told them I needed guidance. But, the problem I am having is: My doc office doesn't suggest calories. They simply ask you to make sure you get 80g protein/day, 5g of sugar less in fats and sugars.

I am so confused. I really need meal plans, what is my breakfast supposed to look like? What can I eat for supper? Who wants to constantly eat chicken breast? Ahh!

I looked online for cookbooks and meal plans and for some reason, I cant find hardly anything! I am sorry if this is asked a lot, I really just need help! All along, I was thinking...ok...i can eat anything, just in small amounts. So, if I make spaghetti, I would eat spaghetti. Yet, I am supposed to eat hardly no noodles, right?

my dietician said 3 bites protein, 1 bite veggie, 3 bites protein, 1 bite starch, 3 bites protein, I bit fruit. Repeat repeat repeat.

is this what you guys do, too...or does this sound odd. I thank you for any guidance!

I have all of the same questions. I fell off the wagon around holiday time myself, and am exactly where you are at with all of this.

Here's what I had for some meals recently.

Breakfast 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt with 2 tbsp granola

Breakfast I package Buddig beef 100 calorie pack

Breakfast I trader joe lite cheddar cheese stick

Breakfast 2 oz havarti cheese with dill

Breakfast 1/2 of a restaurant bacon cheese omelette with one slice of Greek toast and half an order of hash browns

lunch One cup chicken salad

Lunch one cup chili

Lunch one cup meat spaghetti sauce no noodles

Lunch one cup egg salad

Lunch 24 raw almonds

Lunch 22 raw pecan halves

dinner kale salad with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms and croutons

Dinner I cup lobster bisque Soup and six broiled scallops

I was told 3-2-1. 3 bites Protein. 2 bites veggies, 1 bite starch, repeat.

Maybe try this site? Theres lots of ideas here http://www.bariatriceating.com/category/wls-friendly-recipes/

As far as calories: I'm guessing by looking at your profile without knowing your age, that 1800 may be too many to lose significant amounts of weight, unless you're VERY active. If you google BMR calculator, It will tell you (estimate) what you need to maintain your current weight.

It gets much easier after your surgeon gets your band properly adjusted.

Best wishes! :)

I go 1500 calories enough food to keep the engine running and lose weight at the same time and drink plenty of water to flush out ur system i only eat enough that I'm just full any more then that i have to bring it up so i have learned how much my tummy can hold
