I know I probably shouldn't compare but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the recovery and pain is like in comparison to a c section?

I had two c sections and total hysterectomy. My sleeve recovery pain was the worst... I think because of scar tissue adhesions from all the surgeries in that region.

My recovery from VSG was seamless...not one complication, limited pain and never got sick. I took one pain pill during recovery and that was more to get sleep than to get rid of pain.

If I compare to my c-section...my c-section was a more difficult recovery.

Either I have a high tolerance for pain or I've been very lucky. I've has a T&A, cubical tunnel surgery, emergency c-section and the sleeve. I recovered very quickly from all w/o use of pain meds (they make me feel crappy). Out of the four I guess the sleeve was most uncomfortable because of the gas, but that was gone after a few days.

The worst pain I experienced was actually in my shoulder from the gas/air bubbles and I was not prepared for that... no one told me.. I never had a C-section, but I had a hysterectomy and that was FAR FAR worse... to me the sleeve was not that painful. I literally woke up feeling like I'd had a nice nap lol But as others have said..we're all different.

I had 2 C-sections. I felt a little nauseous coming out of the anesthesia which is normal. I didn't feel any pain from the surgery or the gas since it had been removed. By the third day, it felt almost as though nothing had happened. The VSG was a cake walk for me.

Just to clarify... I didn't need any pain medication after my sleeve. I did after my c-section. But I didn't bounce back as fast after the sleeve surgery. I was tired & just didn't feel good for a few days. You will make it through just fine!
