I was served decaf the day in recovery! an I have drank it every since. now I drink half caf...yes I cant stay awake without a little..lol..what is on your protocol diet? mine was on mine. but theres no sugar. I used honey or cinnamon flavored liquid stevia an a lil coconut milk creamer...:) if its not on your protocol give the office a call.

Yeah my NUT seems to be different then everyone's she says no coffee ever. But everyone's so different. I know I should listen to mine but COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE! lol

My dietician allows coffee 4 weeks post op... Just does not count as water intake. I am just about 4 weeks post op and I'm excited to have some caffeine soon! I just plan on switching to Splenda instead of sugar and sugar free creamer!

I'm told decaf is OK as long as it does't bother my reflux/acid. So I'm sparing with it. I do take two meds to control acid.

Are you on a PPI - do you have any acid issues?

I certainly understand why NUT's are conservative towards coffee. Who wants an ulcer?
