Day 4, home

This is NOT for the faint of heart. This is TOUGH. I did really good the first 2 days in hospital but night of day two

was a different story. The gas build up in my stomach became intensely painful. I walked laps around the hospital

floor trying to get it to move with no success. Stomach is extremely sore. I was asked last night if I made the right

choice and I know that right now is not the time to answer this. I will just say this is really tough.

First full day home and just working on liquids, getting in the Vitamins, eating pureed foods, Protein. Also, walking around

still trying to kick my bowels into action. I am really looking forward to these next two days going by as I am sure I will

feel better soon. Struggling right now.

  • I am really sorry you are struggling right now! It will get better, you have to remember all of the reasons you needed to do this for your health!

  • I promise it will get better! I had a similar experience and used a heating pad, gas x and walked a lot. After the 1st week most of the gas pain finally disappeared. Good luck!

  • I'm sorry to hear you are hurting, but I hope it passes swiftly!

I cannot agree with you more. This surgery is really really painful. I am still in the hospital first night have awful gas pains, throwing up bloody Mucas and just praying for it to end.

The easy way out? Yeah right. I am paying for every binge and every extra bite I ever took right now.

Us people that make it through this surgery a strong as nails.
