This might sound like a dumb question but does anyone know when the stomach after having the sleeve starts to only produce enough acid for our little tummies, or perhaps it just keeps producing at normal rate??? I still have a little reflux at 10 mths, never had it prior just in my throat...

I can't answer that, but I was given Prilosec for a month after my sleeve surgery to reduce stomach acid.

I've taken Omeprazole for intense heartburn for years before being sleeved. Post-surgery, my doctor put me on Carafate in addition to the Omeprazole. He said the Carafate "coats" the stomach. I was still having bad heartburn post-surgery until I read the fine print on my prescription bottle that said to make sure you take the Omeprazole at least 30 minutes before the Carafate. No problems now!!

I'd love to know the answer to that...my surgeon puts everyone on prescription Pepcid for the first 6 months.
