When You Realize You Really Are Changing...

The other day I was shopping in a department store and looking at Christmas present options when I glanced to my side and caught my profile in a mirror, I quickly looked away as that is what I have programmed to do for so long and kept walking down the isle. Then I stopped and actually processed what I saw, turned around and went back to the mirror. First, I couldn't believe that I actually went back to the mirror and second I absorbed the fact that I was changing physically and I was becoming a new person (inside and out). I know my clothing sizes had been changing and I was losing inches along with weight but I don't think I really saw myself changing until that day.

Anyone else have those moments where you go "Wow... Is that really me?"

At the end of Sept I was sitting in the lobby of the car rental return waiting for the shuttle to take me to pick up my car after some repairs. I looked up for a moment to look outside (it was dark out) and I saw the reflection of a young lady sitting there looking out side too. I thought, hmm, I was pretty sure that I was the only one there when I sat down. I looked around and was right, looked back out the window and realized it was MY reflection in the window I was seeing. Absolute shock as this was a pretty, well dressed women and not the fat not so well dressed me that I was used to seeing....major eye opener! So so happy!

@@Big_Mama We must be soul sisters....I have always thought I was OK and a bit fluffy, but seeing pictures of myself is shocking. And a bit horrifying! I cannot wait for my bod to catch up with my mind!!!!!

@@shizwiz Yes!!!! Me either! I look at myself head on, and I'm ok, most of the time, but catch me sideways and it's a whole other story!! HA!!

You guys have me dying over here!! I'm getting sleeved on 12/29 & can't wait for this to happen to me! Funny thing is, in my mind I'm not so big, then when I catch myself in a mirror sideways I say "that can't be me, I don't feel that big!" I'm definitely a lot smaller in my mind than I am in person! Lol

me too!
