16 days out

And I'm finally on puréed foods for 4 weeks! I don't know if I can do this... Today I pureed chicken with some chicken broth, it was awful! I also did some carrots they weren't bad. How in the world do you make it on pureed foods? Looks to me like I'll be drinking my shakes for the next 4 weeks.

The Drs office told me to purée chili, chicken, turkey get my Protein in, how do you do it?

Also I've lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks and now down 29 # since doing the 6 months diet and 2 weeks. Which is good but I'm at a stall haven't moved in 3 days, I thought it came at 3 weeks.

Guess I'm just frustrated over the pureed foods.

  • My NUT said that my food did not have to be puréed. Just soft enough to be chewed to a puréed consistency. I just chew my food really well and eat slow and take very small bites. So far so good.

  • I loved my pureed stage... I actually still eat some of the same foods. Mashed potatoes with cheese and/or garlic and added unflavored Protein powder Plain Greek yogurt flavored with various protein

I'm 3 weeks out and on purée/soft foods. I skipped the purée. And just eat soft foods. I only have one more week till I'm on regular whole foods. Seems like u all are on extremely extended liquid phases? I don't think I could have done it that long. I'm eating beans and cheese, eggs, full soups like chili, broccoli cheddar, and veggie soup. I even minced up so me grilled shrimp on my birthday. All has been fine.

Days 1-7 Clear Liquids

Days 8-14 Full Liquids

Days 15-21 Puréed Food

Days 22-28 Soft/Mushy Food

I was only on clear liquids 24 hours! Released home from the hospital on full liquids for 10-14 days as tolerated. And then purée/ soft foods for 10-14 days as tolerated. Then on to your normal foods. So within a month on reg lifetime diet.

I also had to keep a thorough food log for my 2 week post op and my surgeon went over it with me and it was all ok. It's kinda funny to see all the different ways they do things!

I was only on Clear liquids the day before surgery. I was sent home on full liquids and went from that to soft foods.

@#9grammy - It also sound like you are weighing yourself too frequently. You should weigh yourself no more than once a week. Personally I don't weigh myself at all It's too much extra stress to add to the mix. Instead I focus on getting in my Protein and Water and exercising regularly. I was last weighed on 11/3. I won't weigh myself again until I see the doctor in December.
