Snow and surgery!

Recommended Posts

Well I am scheduled for surgery at 5:30 am with a 4am arrival on Tuesday 11/11 and I live 3.5 hours from the hospital. So I am driving there today and getting a hotel room for the night. Now we are under a winter storm warning with snowfall starting around 6 am this morning and continuing through Tuesday afternoon. This storm also comes with high winds and we are told to expect blizzard like conditions and visibility under 1/4 mile at times. We are expecting 20+ inches at home and only 12-15 inches at the hospital where my surgery is being done. Wish me luck on my 3.5 hour drive that will probably take us over 7 hours if we are lucky to get there. Why does it have to snow tomorrow and Tuesday of all days? Grrrr at least I will be so worried about the weather I won't have time to get antsy about surgery!

i am also curious where you live??

I realize you are having surgery bright and early

Its pretty late to suggest this, buttttt

is there any way you could leave for the trip hours before you need to

this way it will be light out, and safer, easier to drive :)

you would arrive to destination much earlier - better safe than sorry

early check in???

if this late thought won't work -(maybe you are at work)

take the drive slow and cafefully

always watch out for the other guy

drive safe :)

good wishes :)

Thanks everyone ! I am in northwestern Wisconsin about 3 hours northeast of Minneapolis. We made it to the hotel around 11am safe and sound. The hotel let us check in early and is only 5 minutes from the hospital. Hopefully the snow wraps up tonight or tomorrow morning and my hubby can make it back home safely

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
