3 month-before and during pics!

Here's my story!

I've struggled with my weight my entire life. Blah, blah, blah! This is, I'm sure, the same story for most of us. I've tried all diets and have had a lot of success only to see the weight gradually come back the minute I stopped exercising and "dieting". I haven't stepped on a scale for over 7 years nor did I go to the doctor's office in this time frame. Quite frankly, I didn't want to hear the number, my weight. In the spring I started doing research on weight loss surgery and decided to move forward and attend a seminar. I was so impressed! Even though this was not covered by my insurance and I paid out of pocket, I moved forward with RNY. I didn't really "diet" prior to surgery but I didn't go on a eating binge either. I only had to do a 3 day surgery prep and had my surgery on July 14, 2014. This is my "before" and "during" pics. The last 3 months have truly been life changing. I've learned so much from this site and others. I look at food so much differently now. I don't consider myself as being on a "diet". Instead, I just choose to eat really healthy foods. I've stuck to a really low carb/high Protein diet. Pretty much the same for all of us. I really enjoy reading all of your stories and get something out of all of them. As of today, just about 3 1/2 months post op, I am down about 85 lbs! Here's to the next 3 months!!!

Thanks everyone! Every story I read is so inspiring to me as well.

Day 2 of my 2 week prep diet. I've had my 60+ gms of Protein and at least a half gallon of liquids. I've got a little headache but other than that I'm doing ok. I've heard that days 3 and 4 are the worst, then after that it gets easier. How did the pre diet effect you?

My doctor only required a 3 day prep but I did 4 just so I could get used to drinking Protein shakes. When I decided to move forward with the surgery in April I quit drinking all soda/ carbonated beverages/ caffeine , etc. I started getting all of my Water in everyday about 3 months prior to my surgery. Could the headaches be caffeine related? How are the Protein Shakes going for you? If you are a member of costco they have a really good Protein shake (premade in I think 10 oz. servings) It is Premier Protein. This is what got me through the pre-surgery prep and the weeks after surgery, I although for the first week I thought it would take an entire week to finish a 10oz shake! They taste great! When is your surgery? So happy for you that the prep is going pretty good for you! Best of luck with everything. Although I am pretty much a newbie myself and far from an expert, please let me know if I can answer any questions for you. Some of these post/topics really helped me immediately after surgery.

You look fabulous, keep up the great work! Cant wait to see your 6 months postop pics :)
