9 day post op

I am 9 days post op and did a follow up with my dr on Monday and he placed me on mushy food. I have a question regarding bowel movement. I made 1 bowel movement after the operation but before going on mushy food. Its been 6 days since the last movement. Is this normal? Been experience lots of gas but kind of concern about the lack to bowels.

It is normal, but if you start to have any pain from the constipation I was told by my surgeon you can take a dulcolax suppository

I was told I should take stool softeners but NOT laxatives. You can get quickly dehydrated using laxatives. Be careful.
