November sleevers in Mexico?

Hi guys!

I'm one month out today, and would love to hear from any of you that are going to Mexico for your surgery. I read these boards and all the amazing resources that stateside sleevers get and it makes me jealous. And nervous. I would love to chat about how everyone is getting ready, what surgeons and hospitals everyone is using, if you've found a nutritionist to work with at home, etc.

Anyone?? ((((echo))))

Hi Everyone. I finally feel decent enough to give you all an update. Here's what went down: I got to the hospital at 12:00 and did pre-op testing. They told me I would meet with the internist and th

Who's your Doc? There is so much good info and encouragement on this site. We will do great!

@@haleytrim What a great birthday present to yourself! I am 43 and have the same health issues. I have always had high blood pressure. At my last doctor visit, she told me I had developed Type II and hyperlipidemia. That was my last straw and I knew I needed a permanent change. I am having mine on 11/16. We can all do this!!!

I am getting so anxious. I can't wait for Nov. 21 to come and go. I feel like I am as prepared as I am ever going to be. I have purchased almost everything for my trip and the first couple of weeks home. I have told everyone that I am going to tell and dealt with the fall out from it. I am ready and no one's bad juju is stopping me now.

@@StephanieJ713 -- LOVED that post! I am right there with you. I have my surgery one week from tomorrow and I wish it was a week ago already!!

I really had a hard time choosing between Dr. Elias Ortiz and Dr. Ponce. I have a friend who used Dr. E. Ortiz and she can't say enough good things about him and her experience. She is doing really well. I made my decision based on the fact that I will have my gallbladder removed and a small hiatal hernia repair. Dr. Ponce is also experienced in general surgery.

My insides are constantly rumbling. Not hunger pains. Just rumbles. All over. At first drinking was really easy but today I'm noticing I get a pressure-type pain in my back if I drink so I'm being extra careful about sipping and not drinking too much at one time.

@ Glad you are doing okay though! I am having rumbling.....but it must be hunger pains <---pre-op diet sucks!

@ -- Do they rumbles hurt, or are the just kinda "there"? I've heard a heating pad or hot water bottle can help? You fly home tomorrow, right?

@@wantingabetterlife -- hehehehe. Rumbles. I haven't had my morning protein shake yet because I need to step on the scale. But I'm scared to. Isn't that ridiculous? I'm scared that somehow, even on this pre-op diet, I will have gained. These old mental habits are gonna die hard, I'm afraid.

@@Becca R. They are just there. They don't hurt at all. I asked the doctor last night if it was normal and he said yes.

The only pain I have is a weird pinch in my lower belly when I stand and the pressure in my back when I drink. Not bad at all. I feel pretty good otherwise.

I'm actually riding to Los Angeles today to recover at my in-laws. I wanted as much time to recover as possible. I'm being pampered very well by my husband and mother in law. :-)

@@StephanieJ713 I have my surgery with Dr. Ortiz on the 16th and I will be heading out on the 20th. I may see you in passing. Hope all goes well for you!

I wish! We will just miss you. We are arriving early on the 21st with surgery late that day.

I'm scheduled for surgery on Nov 14 ... so excited! It's nice to see that there are so many others who've gone the Mexico route. :)

@@sprocket -- Me too! We are date buddies. ^_^ I see you are going with Dr. Ortiz; which hospital are you staying at?
