November sleevers in Mexico?

Hi guys!

I'm one month out today, and would love to hear from any of you that are going to Mexico for your surgery. I read these boards and all the amazing resources that stateside sleevers get and it makes me jealous. And nervous. I would love to chat about how everyone is getting ready, what surgeons and hospitals everyone is using, if you've found a nutritionist to work with at home, etc.

Anyone?? ((((echo))))

Hi Everyone. I finally feel decent enough to give you all an update. Here's what went down: I got to the hospital at 12:00 and did pre-op testing. They told me I would meet with the internist and th

hi

I am having my surgery with Dr Garcia on the 22nd at Florence. But we are staying at the Hotel Pueblo Amigo because I hear it is easier to walk around and they have a casino for my boyfriend.

Pauline

Thanks, I'll be on day one. I'm coming alone. Nervous about that but ready for the change.

Update: Day 5 Post Op

The numbness in my abdomen is completely gone and now I feel the full effect of the surgery. I'm extremely sore but I'm able to get out of bed by myself and take a shower without assistance. I cannot dry myself off or bend over yet though. Riding in a car sucks. I managed to walk 1 mile today with a few breaks along the way.

Today was the first day I met my protein and fluid requirement. Genepro is a lifesaver!

I had a gas bubble trapped under my right ribcage today that took my breath away. I had my husband beating my back to try and break it up.

I'm still very tired each day. I seem to have little spurts of energy but then I crash again. I'm hoping by Monday, one week out, I'll feel better. :-)

Hi everyone! Just a quick update. Had my surgery by Dr fernando Garcia yesterday morning. Everything is going good so far. Pain is tolerable. Should be getting my 3rd leak test soon. All of my nurses have spoken pretty good English. The Marriott is really nice.

@@wantingabetterlife -- high 5!!!! Way to go!!

Anyone feel like sharing their pre-op pictures? I'll be taking mine today. :)

I'm doing great here! Getting out of the hospital today. Just waiting on the hotel shuttle to come pick us up. Got my drain tube and iv removed a little bit ago. Just getting used to drinking more. I get lots of gurgling in my stomach but it's not painful or anything just annoying.

@@smb0187 So glad you are doing well!

I don't think anyone wants to see mine!

Has @@Revgirl checked in at all?

Haven't seen her in a couple of days.

Uh...Day 7 Post Op Update:

I still have diarrhea. ????

Also, I still have bouts of extreme exhaustion. BUT, I can now do pretty much anything myself. I can dry myself after a shower. I shaved my legs yesterday (carefully)!!

I'm allowed to start full fluids which means I can finally have something besides clear broth and protein. I'm really looking forward to a protein shake, maybe some creamy soup and a sugar free pudding.
