November Sleevers, let's buddy up

I'm scheduled for November 25th. My pre op starts on November 15th. Unlike some that I've read about my doctor will only allow protein shakes, water, decaf tea, and sugar free popsicle. So I'm starting to try different protein shakes. So far I like the premier chocolate shakes. I'm trying nectar today (fuzzy navel), it taste ok, not a great after taste. I've tried protein flavored chicken soup. Not bad. I stopped all caffeine, went through 2 days of headache from caffeine loss. Now it's just a waiting game intil my preop appointment. Would love to hear from others with a surgery date in November and what they have tried so far.

I HAVE INSURANCE APPROVAL!!!!! I am so so so excited! So I am officially scheduled for November 4th at 9:30. My doctor doesn't require a pre-op because of my BMI but I am going to do one anyway becuase I think it will help me mentally prepare.

Congratulations Watson! My insurance is submitted and I am on pins and needles waiting!! There should t be any issues getting approval with my insurance and I have completed and passed everything and did my last class. I am wanting NOVEMBER TOO!! I want to be in the November club as well and want a buddy for moral and physiological support!!

I just got the call today, Sleeve surgery on Nov 3rd!!!! So excited/scared/nervous but thankful that the time has come!! Start protein drinks/liquids only next week & I'm ok with it, just another hoop to jump thru to get on the road to a healthier, happier life. When I get down/frustrated I visualize all the positive things to come~ being more active, less tired, able to take walks & ride bike with the hubby, fit comfortably in theatre/airplane seats, being able to shop for clothes in a 'regular' store....so many things that a lifetime of morbid obesity have stolen from me. I'm 58 & have been fighting this fight for 40+ years & I know I'll still have to fight but I feel like I'll finally have a tool in my bag that will help me with the battle.

Getting ready for my sleeve...I will be getting mine at mayo. 11. 14. Based on what I've read it's good to know I'm on the same wavelength with some of you folks in terms of readiness and being nervous.

I get to join the party! I received a letter from my insurance yesterday that I have been approved. My surgeon's office won't be open until Friday, it is going to be such a long week.

I'm waiting for insurance approval, but I am scheduled for November 18. I am excited and nervous at the same time. A few years ago I started the process of getting a band, but I lost so much weight in the months leading up to it that I canceled. Of course I eventually gained most of it back. That makes me very sure that this is something I need to do. Now I just want to get it over with!

@@L2me did you get approval? On for the 18th? That's my date

@gardengirlnp. They actually moved mine up to the 12th. Congrats and feel free to keep in touch

I'm scheduled for nov.25 as well but I haven't tried anything ???? im actually looking for protein shakes recommendations

Premier protein shakes are the best! They have great flavors and my surgeon and doctors say that premier has the best numbers to go by! ???? congrats on your surgery date!! Mine is Nov 18th ????????

I am loving syntrax nectar protein powder - they have not only chocolate and vanilla and cookies and cream, etc but also juice flavors - lemonade and fuzzy navel and stuff like that. They are all realllllllly tasty and the juice flavors are nice for when you get sick of vanilla and chocolate type stuff!!! Good luck! ???? I would suggest going to GNC or vitamin shoppe and getting some one shake pouches of different brands to try before you buy a tub of anything!

Weird how I'm not using anything I thought I would post op. I ordered unjury chocolate and have been using it twice a day with almond coconut milk and the rest the day is broth soup or crystal light and yogurt. In another week I can do cottage cheese etc so it like the getting in protein part was never a problem. I have my Syntrax and will def use it but for sone reason the milk and unjury feel great and taste better so why ruin a good thing! Now u just need to order more cuz it took forever to get here and cannot buy it locally.
