Acid reflux-will it go away?

Since post-op (I'll be 3 months out in a few days) my doctor prescribed me Omeprozole 20 mg for the acid reflux and It's about to run out tomorrow. There're some nights thatI forgot to take it, the next days I'd be uncomfortable with acid reflux, not too much but still.

How long you're on the medicins for acid reflux post op? Do you still get acid reflux without the medicins?

Thank you for your reply.

I had it bad before my surgery. It started after my heary surgey in '05. If I did not take Prilosec every day I would wake up with acid reflux or whatever, in the middle of the night.

When I asked my doc about continuing to take Prilosec post op he told me that I may have some kind of hiatal hernia. He said if that was the case he would repair it when he did my sleeve. He later told me that I did have one and that he had repaired it.

I have not had acid reflux or heart burn since my surgery.
