Wow!as I look in my contact list not 1 person has called me sense my surgery (not family ,but friends).A co worker who recently had bypass years ago told me my so called friends will drop off like the weight.She said they will no longer understand your mission .I was in disbelief,but it was true.I have no friends.Its for the best.. I dont need jealous people in my circle..

Try not to dwell on that just yet. Think of your recovery first. They may be just want waiting a few days before contacting you, thinking you may need the rest (I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt).

Plus, you are going to make many new friends on line and in person. I have found I've become more out going as the weight comes off and am meeting people I have far more in common with now!

Cut your friends some slack. It is a weird topic, a drastic lifestyle change... My friends have not contacted me either. They are still amazing friends. They don't need to hear about my sore belly, gas problems, or how bored I am!! You continue to take care of yourself. If some people are envious, uncomfortable, or angry that you have had this surgery, that can work itself out, depending on how you approach them. It is a big change. Don't write them off just yet.
