    Used one in the hospital from day one. Never had issues with them. My water bottle has a straw in it. I drink from it every day.

    No problem with straws here. Small Sips and I don't have as many air bubbles rise up.

Straws are fine. Just don't drink fast. If you can "sip" using a straw, no issue.

Note that this is per my bariatric team.

    The only thing i've ever heard about a straw is that you can take in too much air. I never used a straw after my lap band but I have with my sleeve - no troubles either time!

    Can I hear from anyone using a straw with no ill side effects?
