Congratulations on both accounts 2015 will be a great year for you both. Will keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery, with hopes that you'll enjoy all the different stages you will be going thru in the future.

Traveler 60. Just try every new food very cautiously, remembering to take very small bites and really chewing. The one time I had trouble was when I wasn't paying attention, while talking to my husband I was just eating like I used to, by the time I realized what I was doing my stomach was really hurting....now that talks you how mindlessly I used to eat one time was a lesson well learned. Good luck on trying new foods.

I was like you navy mom scared to try the pop corn. But last weekend we went to the movies I tried it, ate very slowly to see if anything would happen and everything was fine. I'm 2 months out tomorrow. Good luck with it, I really enjoy having popcorn at the theater. When I was on weight watchers I'd hardly eat anything all day if I knew we were going to the movies

I'm in my car all day too. I take deviled eggs a lot their easy to eat and filling. I also ordered these bags of cookies and chps from Amazon their made by Kay's. They have 12 grams of protien 1 grams of sugar 15grams of carbs and 4 of fiber. They aren't a Keebler cookie but their not bad, and they keep in your car.

Bellaluce, we were sleeved about the same time, mine was 9-2-14. I agree with you I wish I had done it sooner I'm 56 and when I first went to the doctor, before I found this group I thought I might be too old . Welcome to the group. I'm down 35 pounds and already feel much better.

    Hurt our new tummy

Wow 8 weeks, I know that was RUFF.. My doc just required 2 weeks of liquids and that was a long 2 weeks . Congratulations on being able to do that.
  9. Congratulations Angirue that's a great weight loss. Dr. Walton is strict, but he has the patients best interest. My daughter could have had her surgery around the first week of November but she hadn't completely quit smoking . So now she is motivated to be completely off cigarettes for her surgery on December 2. Good luck with your surgery and maybe we'll see each other at one of the support group meetings.

They weighed me right before surgery, right after they have you change into the hospital gown. Then after surgery late at night or very early in the morning they weigh you again, I gained 6 pounds

The reason I was given as to why we end up with such bad gas pains is that they fill your torso with air to make it easier to manuever their instruments during surgery. You'll have gas pain clear up in your neck and shoulder. Walking helps a lot and the gas x strips.

I went to weight wise up in Edmond with dr Walton, they have support groups too, it's a good place to learn a lot about sleeve life

I was off about ten days also. I could have gone back sooner not much pain at all but you will be really tired. Good luck. Who's your doctor?

    Any Oklahoma Sleevers

It really does get exciting, plus a little nerve racking right before your surgery. I was lucky, they called me on a Friday and said they had an opening for the following Tuesday so I didn't have very much time to worry . I'm sure your surgery will go great, just do everything they tell you to do and you'll do good.

YouTube gurus and natural weight loss

I always kind of looked at it like child birth some people just brag about having natural child birth. I did a little research found out I could have a beautiful baby without all the pain so the drugs were for me. I needed to lose weight did a little research found out the sleeve would be a great option to help me get the weight off and keep it off. Plus I get to be a part of this community so I made the right choice for me.

Yes please stay in this group, I loved reading your first year journey. I found it amazing that you had the courage to do all the traveling so soon after surgery. It made me realize that no mater where I go I can also find something to eat on the menu or at a party, I just remember if queen of the crop could do it all over the world I can do it in my limited traveling. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

    How's Everyone Doing?

I had surgery 9/2/14, just started on second stage of soft foods. I really have to remember to eat slow, if you don't it can sure make you feel sick, but I'm in the learning stages, and making new habit stage . I'm down about 26 pounds that includes losing 6 pounds before surgery. Hope all the other sept sleevers are doing good.

    Day 8

After my two week nut visit they put me on all the vitamins and supplements that I hadn't taken since surgery, that really helped with my energy level.
  21. Thank you, I got those ordered, I had signed up for auto delivery at the surgeons office, I'm going to have to cancel all the autos except the main vitamins. I didn't like the chewable probiotics either. I don't think I used to be this picky, but now some things really bother me. Thanks again for the information
  22. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll go over to Amazon and see if I can't find them. I even put them in a drawer because they smell through the bottle on my night stand . This has been my worst thing of the surgery
  23. I did a dumb thing yesterday, I'm three weeks post surgery decided that I would take all my vitamins at the same time. I felt really hot and nauseous for about two hours. This is all a learning experience as we go and get used to our new life with a sleeve. I really hate the b-12 vitamins they smell sooooo bad and you belch them for a while. I had never taken b-12 before the surgery, I do like that it gives you energy, it's just the smell ????

    A straw?

When I went for my two week nut class they said that straws were fine from here on.
