I was denied!

I am so upset right now. I was looking at October 14th as my surgery day. All I was waiting for was final approval from my insurance company. I received the call today saying that I was denied. My insurance company required 6 months of nutritional visits. Back in March, I gained 2 lbs but then steadily after that lost 19 lbs. But because of the 2 lbs that I had gained 6 months ago, they denied me. I wanted this so bad. I needed this so bad. :(

Same thing happened to me and because of it, they deemed it wasn't medically necessary and I'm going through the appeal process now. I'm sick to my stomach I don't know what to do!

Same here. I am now 4 months out from surgery.

I appealed twice. Denied twice.

I hired lindstrom obesity advocates in CA, and they had me approved in 3 weeks!!!

  • 3 months later...

I have a question - has anyone heard of someone being denied because they lost too much weight? My BMI is right on the line. I have the band and want to go to a RNY. I'm just curious...

thanks!
