"Foamies" are when you vomit up part of your meal (a nasty saliva foamy mix). It happens if you eat too much, eat too fast, or don't chew well enough. Foamies result when your stoma becomes blocked

  • It's common. I'm 15 months post op and still get them, usually if I forget that I'm not 'normal'. You can avoid them by taking small bites, chew-chew-chew, eat slowly, measure small portions and stick

I've experienced this too! I am 9 weeks post op, but it happened at solid food day one, (week 4).

Scrambled eggs once. I ate too fast, didn't chew well, and up it came. I do notice the feeling now, so I slow down, or stop eating. I have also done it with beef. Just part of the journey.

I'm 3 weeks out and had my first one last Sunday. It's amazing how fast it can go from good to bad. But now I know what it feels like. I know what I did wrong. And I hope to prevent it in the future.

I'm 4 weeks past my RNY. Today I had the first foamies since the hospital. I had a whole mug of sleepy time tea, and that helped settle things down.
