Preop Diet

So I started my preop diet today. I'm allowed 3 protein shakes a day, two fruits (Apple, oranges or pears), and a salad with protein. I was wondering what other peoples preop diet was like and how much you lost during that time frame? My surgery is august 6th.

My diet was very simple. 1 week of low carb protein drinks, with no restrictions on quantity.

I was only allowed 3protein shakes a day and if I was really starving I could add a banana to one. I lost 20lbs before my surgery. It was hard the first 4days then I really didn't miss food.

My preoperative diet oils very strict.. 4 Protein shakes and 5 choices between unsweetened rd applesauce, sugar fer pudding, light yogurt, fat free cream Soup n plain oatmeal or cream of wheat or one coup V-8 juice.

Mine was 2 shakes and a meal consisting of 4ozs of lean Protein (chicken, turkey) and a green veggie with no sauces or cheese.

Lost 10lbs in 2 weeks..

Mine was liquid only for a week. I could have Protein shakes, Water or sugar free water based liquids, broth, sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles. I could also have one of the small cups of sugar free pudding per day.

I cheated ONE time and had a can of chicken with some Frank's hot sauce. If it hadn't been pure protein, I would have felt pretty bad about it.

I ended up losing 18lbs in that week.

Im starting my preop diet soon. Its one week of shakes and low fat protein and one week of just shakes with a target of 800-1000 calories per day. Also three days of just clear liquids right before the surgery.
