Having knee surgery tomorrow...one question

I'm having knee surgery tomorrow morning and wanted to know if anybody had a problem with the anesthesia for any surgeries they had after having the band surgery.

I am a wreck because I had problems with vomiting with other surgeries and now I cannot afford to do that with the band. I am scheduled to go home same day but my band drs. said if I experience vomiting they are going to have me admitted for the night so they can control it.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks at work so I haven't been on as much as I would like.

I wish I was meeting you all in Vegas next week. Hopefully I will be able to meet you all next time. Take lots of pictures for the rest of us.

I had my band emptied before my plastic surgery to prevent any problem if I became nauseated...but it never happened.

They said there was no problem intubating me and it was in and out before I knew anything.

Wow, great thread. I never even thought of complications related to anesthesia. I'll have to be knocked out myself for an endoscopy soon. But the last 2 times I was fine. I don't have the luxury of getting unfilled because I don't even have a port.

We always have to remember to tell our docs about our bands and those kinds of complications. Maybe they can give you something for nausea before knocking you out? Just guessing.

Wow DeLarla how do you get fills or have I just missed something you posted previously explaining all that? Hmmmm...very interested in your response.....

Thanks

Katie

Katie, I don't get fills. They gave me one fill, then removed my port. I'm on my way to get a Cat Scan now that a surgeon will look at on 10/21 to see why the wound isn't healed from my June port removal. If I want a fill, I have to heal completely, then have another surgery to get a new port.

Back to the original thread - how did your knee surgery go? Did they have to remove your fill or do anything special? Hope you're up and around painfree soon. Keep us posted.
