Store Securiry Alarms

As anyone experienced setting off store security alarms entering and leaving stores. I set them off every time I go in or out of a store. Oddly enough this only started happening about a month ago and I've had the lap band for 1 year. I realized it was the lap band through the process of elimination.

Seriously? It's silicone. How can that happen?

Are you sure it's the band? Could it be your shoes? A purse? My husband used to have this issue and it took us months to figure out what the problem was and it ended up being his shoes.

I had a bar code on a lipstick that kept triggering it. Lol!

I wish I could figure it out, but like I said I went through the process of elimination. The only thing I didn't take off was my clothes. I left my purse, my keys, my phone, nothing in my hair, no jewelry, just a t-shirt, shorts bra and panties. Can't for the life of me figure it out. This is the only thing I can think of.

I fly all the time, and go through TSA Security with the band totally undetected....it's not going to set off store alarms....

Or like someone said, maybe they left the price tag on your band....

Carry a card in your purse/wallet saying you have a lapband installed.

LOL no I've never noticed that. I have the same thought as others, it might be something else. The band doesn't have any metal so it shouldn't be setting it off.

Did you buy a new wallet or purse that had a security tag inside that was not removed. I did this for about 2 years until a nice lady at a Wallmart in Greenvalley AZ asked to see my wallet and showed me the tag, took it out and have never have the problem since. The lap band does not set of the security alarm at airports but if you go through body scanner it shows up and you might bet the blue glove pat down as I did until I told them I had a lap band and then they let me go.
