My story

Hi, my name is Gail and I'm 4 days sleeved, what a relief that it's over and I'm back home. I had it done at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida on 6/17/2014, I had a great team of doctors led by Dr. Szomstein and great care by the nurses at the clinic I would highly recommend having it done there. One thing I can can tell you if you are thinking of doing this is to research the procedure, go to the nutrition classes and support groups that the hospital offers this way nothing is a surprise. I didn't really have a weight problem until I hit 40 then I stopped smoking and it started piling on, I have been on every diet out there as I'm sure you all have, they all work for a while and then I would slip back and binge. I knew I had to do something because now I had developed all sort of related health problem such as high blood pressure, diabetes etc. I really have to say the whole really wasn't that bad the first 2 days are uncomfortable but otherwise it was okay. So now I begin my journey of dropping the weight i'm down 15lbs but that's moistly due to the liquid diet. I'll keep you posted

Yay you! I'm just in the beginning stages myself...first appointment on 07 July. So you went to the support groups before your surgery...I've been wondering if folks did that...did you like them? Will you continue to go now that you are on the "the other side"?

I'm in Florida but we can still chat on this website, also, I don't think I will go to anymore support groups since I learned what I needed to know but yes it does help[ talking to people that went through it.

Congratulations! Good luck on your journey! I was sleeved 4/23 and am still figuring out things! Haha I love this site!! I take what people have for advice and their experience and try and make sense of what I am going through! It helps knowing others have the same experiences!! Like when I hit a three week stall. It wasn't as aggravating after I found out its normal and most people hit them at some point! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Well im waiting on my insurance and then ill find out what day I go in. But I have a ? What do you guys mean by having a stall. Is that when you have to change the way you or what im really confused. .....

Congratulations! Hope everything is going well for you.
