  • I take Zyrtec on a regular basis. Both my pcp and surgeon are aware. my surgeon always stated that no aspirin or ibuprofen and that my pills should be the size of a pea or smaller.

Well I don't know about Claritin but I have used Benadryl with no problem.

I would ask your surgeon or the pharmacist at your pharmacy.

Feel better.

When did you have your surgery? I was told it was okay to take children's Benadryl, because it comes in chewable form.

I've been using Zyrtec as needed since my surgery name. I know my GP is aware and I'm pretty sure my surgeon is too.

I have been taking Claritin every day for two years for a bent septum (to keep the nasal swelling down) and was told it was fine to continue to take it after surgery.
