May 25, 201412 yr Hello, I will be seeing my PCP Tuesday for the 1st appointment to discuss this option. Anyone have any advice? I am so glad that this forum exists. Your posts are very helpful and inspiring. Thanks everyone!
May 25, 201412 yr Good luck on beginning your journey. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need on the first appointment, sometimes it helps to write them down
May 26, 201412 yr Author Thank you, I appreciate the advice. I am really worried about how long it may take to get to the surgery from this point.
May 26, 201412 yr If you go foward with having surgery, make sure you schedule all your appointments and meet all requirements.. It will make the process smooth and in matter of months you will have a surgery Date. Stay on top of it!
May 31, 201412 yr Author I was too afraid to go. :-( I've been reading more stories here and will reschedule A.S.A.P. I just really am afraid that this will be a long process from 1st appointment to surgery.
May 31, 201412 yr I'm only 2 months into this and On Tuesday I get a surgery date. If you have initiative and you get all your appt scheduled ASAP you'll have your surgery before you know it. Be dedicated to your decision.

May 31, 201412 yr Author Please pray for me. My best friend passed away on the 12th and I've really been struggling with everything.
May 31, 201412 yr Prayers sent your way. I lost my very best friend a year ago on May 26th, and not to hAve him here to support me and walk me through this has been extremely tough. But I've looked to My faith and I will succeed. I can't see my best friend but he's right here holding my hand
June 7, 201412 yr Author My appointment with the weight loss counseling center is the 13th. Since I last posted I have learned that I have hypothyroidism, slight anemia and Vitamin D deficiency. Does anyone know how any of this might impact me approval for the surgery? Thanks.
June 8, 201412 yr I don't know about the anemia or vitamin D but I have hypothyroidism and it never affected my surgery. Edited June 8, 201412 yr by willow13
June 8, 201412 yr I am anemic and my Nut said I will be prescribed an iron supplement. She said that my iron need to be normal before I am scheduled for surgery but she didn't anticipate any problems. She said it is common.
