Hi, my name is Kelly i am 27 yrs old from long island NY, my Dr. Vorha. I am planning on getting the gastric sleeve done. I have done all the requirements the office has asked me to do. At my last appointment the lady told me at my next appointment which is may 13 i will start the opti-fast which is used as the liquid diet to shank my liver and they are pushing for a june surgery. I am a little nervous but i have done my research and have read a lot of posts from others to better understand what i will be going through. If there is any tips anyone can give me about pre-op or even post-op it would be nice.

I Don't have any more advise than what I have already given you. Just know your mother loves you and will be there in a NY minute if you want me there. You got this !!! You have done your homework went to two support groups and are ready to begin this journey. Love you with all that I am. <3

Kamp, there is way too much to tell you in a post, but I would recommend that you log on every day until your surgery, you read and learn. Things will move pretty quickly for you now. Relax and before you know it you will be sing a new song. The surgery and recovery was 10 times easier than we expected. Had very little pain, and almost felt like "Did they really do the surgery?". The fear of the unknown was the worst. I over bought too much. You will get many recommendations for shakes, protein bars and protein powders. Buy 3-4 and try them all. Do not stockpile as you will end up with a lot of things you will not use. Best wishes, we will be your new best friends! Linda

Do you know any good sites where i can get sample protein shakes and powders to try and see what ones i will like? or a store i can get them from?

I ordered an Unjury sample pack through amazon. I got 4 or 5 flavors and a shaker bottle. I also ordered a variety pack of Syntrax Nectar packets from BJ Bariatrics.
