post op from April 29th

Well fellow sleever's, seems so unbelievable to being saying that. I feel so blessed to be on the otherside. Hands are really swollen and pain mainly in one incision, didn't know I needed an order to be able to use gas x strips so they're off limits tip Dr writes, hummed cause the gas is what's really bothersome. Just wanted to do a quick update, more layer today...

I don't own a scale and don't intend to buy one until I am close to goal, to monitor for small gains that could mean trouble. For now I weigh when I see my surgeon, and that's it. I know how I am.

FYI there is no way to prevent the hair loss. I saw my dermatologist yesterday. The anesthesia puts a good portion of your hair follicles to sleep. Me and my hair stylist both noticed my hair hasn't g

Hi all! I was sleeved 4/7, down 45 lbs so far!

My clothes are quite loose! Im going to try and hold out on buying new clothes until this summer sometime. I'm down 25 lbs so far. Last week I lost 0.4 lbs! That was a shocker! Only 120 to go....lol. I have a long way to go! Started soft foods this week and so far it's going ok. I ate some grilled chicken (not necessarily a soft food) for supper tonight and it's sitting there like a brick! Still adjusting to this tiny stomach and trying not to overeat. It's so easy to over eat! I'm so happy i had a sleeve done!

Wanted to share since today is 1 month post op. All my labs are good except Vitamin D so I am taking a RX 1 time a week. I have lost a total of 41lbs. Super excited! I am still working on getting all my water & protein in daily but I am getting there! I have just hit today walking on treadmill for 30 min @3 mph. Slowly but surely! No regrets at all loving the changes in my life & body! 2 more weeks and I can start strength training ready to work on my arms & abs. I am wearing my clothes till they fall off I am looking at 2nd hand stores and clearance don't want to spend to much! I how all my 1 mo post op buddies are doing just as well. :)

Wish I were doing as well numbers wise as you guys, but I've lost twenty pounds since surgery, so that's still good. (Plus ten pre-op). I also had a week long stall my third week. Food is going okay, and still on soft stuff. I'm walking a lot - about three miles a day/7000 steps, and even added some long strenuous hikes, but the scale is just moving sooooo slowly. Argh! Maybe next month it'll pick up. I'm not minding the food restrictions or amounts at all, but it's getting hard to avoid events where people expect me to be able to eat with them ( part of my job involves this regularly)so am ready to be able to at least pick at real food soon.

Surprisingly I feel like my attitude is okay--but it'd be even better if I could see a bit faster loss!

the 25th marked my one month post op and im down 27lbs!! im gonna start exercising next week and i have nooooo regrets!! havent had any complications where i've thrown up n etc **knock on wood** and i pretty much eat whatever at this point i just dont eat alot of it. nooow i havent had any breads n rice tho. im hopin i'll make it to 200 by Sept.

Try more ptrotein grams or change up ur exercise routine. It has helped me. They can cause a stall also ur water intake, make sure ur getting at least 64oz of water or more.

Question for anyone: I am 5 1/2 weeks out no problems at all until last week. Everyday my stomach feels like a nagging feeling I don't want to eat. If I eat it still does it & if I Don't eat same thing. I can function but the feeling is still there. I am getting my protein & water in. I called my Surgeon Thurs and she said I either had a touch of a virus or gas and to try Mylanta and if no better call back on Monday. Today has been a little better but not much. I am frustrated cause I don't want to feel like this every day. I have followed to a tee my surgeons instructions & no new foods. Has anyone had any of this happen?? Or any suggestions?? Thanks! :/

I had something similar happen a couple weeks ago. I went back to liquids only for a week, it really helped!

I have had those days. If ur gettong everything in, are u having a good movement in the bathroom? I notice if i go a couple days without i feel kind of icky all day and just dont feel like eating so i just make sure i get in my neccesities too. Im pretty regular so when i dont it bothers me. Good luck to u

I have went back to liquids now for 2 days seem to help some. I am regular on my BM so I don't think that is it. I am just very frustrated been great up to 5 weeks and now for a week miserable...thanks for the comments!

Well that's crazy that so many of us are feeling this way this week. I just got finished throwing up My 1/3 cup of supper. What's up with that? I've eaten that meal before! It wasn't the healthier meal (hamburger helper). I also threw up my water Saturday morning! It's so strange. Six weeks out tomorrow and I just started getting sick! Maybe I'm pushing it too far. I'm back on a regular diet now so I may be overdoing it. Back to the basics tomorrow. Pretty sure I'm done for today.

So tomorrow is 6 weeks post op! How is everyone doing? I'm down 34 lbs. ;-) only 116 left to go! Lol. It's still quite overwhelming but the sleeve has made it much easier. Especially if I continue to be bulimic and throw up all my foods! I'm going back to super softs and liquids tomorrow.

I had my sleeve 4/29 as well, and my weight loss has been bi-polar. I am so terrified of food now it's unreal. Lol.

I simply stick to fish, chicken, and veggies. I know I'm not getting enough water per day, and I need to correct that... Quick.

I'm so scared of failure some days I eat once a day, which I know is not good. Is it normal to be this frightened almost 2 months out?? I feel like some days I could eat like I could before until I start eating and then I'll get nauseous, and throw up. It's still very much a learning process for me.

I feel the same way! I haven't felt this way until this week though. I think I've been overdoing it. I'm attempting to eat lunch now and I've had 4 bites of chicken and 2 of peas. I'm now nauseous and trying to keep it down. I sure hope this gets better.

Ok Alicia, I hope this helps you. Don't starve or dehydrate yourself. As long as you are eating the right foods then your body will do the rest. Hopefully your doctor gave you some sort of plan for what is healthy and high in protein to eat and what to stay away from. Dont make yourself sick with worry. I am almost 6 months post and eat just about anything. Its a new thing so you will have to experiment to see what your body can tolerate. I know you are still a newbie but EAT. Just stick to foods high in protein, low in fat and sugar. No fried foods!! Veggies are great if u tolerate them but make sure ur proteins come first. Minimum of 60g and 64oz of water. I drink a bottle first thing in the morning, between meals and one before bed. I have been doing 80-100g per day since about day 6 and i worked up to now drinking 6 or more bottles a day of water. I am now down 104lbs and im doing great so dont be afraid to eat. Just monitor it so its healthy. Your body will let u know when yohve eaten enough, trust me. Good luck to you and I hope you get through this ok.
