    post op from April 29th

It's going a little bit better. I'm down 44 lbs in 2 months. I still find my body goes through stalls, and I've stuck with eating the same thing for the longest time and I'm starting to get bored, so I need to change it up. With it being the 4th of July today, it's gonna be a real challenge, but Im going to monitor myself, and make the healthiest choices possible. Still looking forward to what the future holds and I'm praying I keep losing, and will stay strong.

    post op from April 29th

Thank you Kimba. I appreciate the tips and support, I'm going to do more research this weekend and really try to get a routine down on what to eat and when. I'm definitely not eating anything fried, and stay away from breads and pasta. I have remember I'm only entering my second month and can't expect overnight results. Thanks so much for the encouragement

    post op from April 29th

I had my sleeve 4/29 as well, and my weight loss has been bi-polar. I am so terrified of food now it's unreal. Lol. I simply stick to fish, chicken, and veggies. I know I'm not getting enough water per day, and I need to correct that... Quick. I'm so scared of failure some days I eat once a day, which I know is not good. Is it normal to be this frightened almost 2 months out?? I feel like some days I could eat like I could before until I start eating and then I'll get nauseous, and throw up. It's still very much a learning process for me.
  5. That's gonna be the hardest thing for me because I LOVE carbs, but if I want the results I want, it must be done. Hopefully my body will stop craving it after awhile.
  6. So I've been having this pinching pain on the inside lower left part of my stomach when I move certain ways and when I try to sit down. I have to hold my stomach to sit down and get up. Has anyone had this, or know anyone who has? Should I be concerned?

    Pinch on my insides

Yeah I called my surgeon yesterday and that's exactly what the nurse told me. That it was the stitching on the muscle that was having to heal. I haven't felt a popping sensation as of yet though.

    Failure

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! I am 3 and a half post op, and I start regular food next week, and I am terrified to death. My weight loss has ceased to exist these past two weeks, and I'm very very discouraged. I've even gained a few pounds. But I have to get ahold of myself and tell myself this is just a hiccup, and tomorrow is a new day. I have had a very very very VERY hard time letting go of carbs, because I LOVE white Pasta, bread, tortillas, everything that's bad for you..... I love. And I'm not going to lie, I still struggle with it. Even though my new stomach doesn't and will not tolerate it, it's still a mental game that I'm struggling to win, and I'm praying in time, I will win. I'm doing research on what to eat and what not to eat, but there are so many hidden bad things that it's hard (for me at least) to know of what I'm about to eat is good or bad?? Hang in there girl. I'm right there with you!
  11. So next Monday I'm able to begin regular foods and I'm terrified. I've eaten so unhealthy for so long, I'm not sure what to eat. On this soft food phase I feel like I'm always hungry. I'm terrified of stretching my stomach back out. I eat baked fish day and night because I know at least that's good for you. I know to stay away from white bread, Pasta, and rice. If you have any recipe ideas or have anything to add to stay away from, I would appreciate it. I'm terrified to death of failure.

    Start regular food next week

Hopeful- Thank God that someone else besides me is always hungry! Lol. Best of luck to you as you begin solid foods! Let me know what works for you and I'll do the same

    Start regular food next week

Sleeveless in Seattle: first of all LOVE the name! Second off, all of those meals sound delish! I love the wrapped up turkey and cheese on the run. It's my favorite snack! How much are you eating per meal? Do you measure in ounces still?
  14. I'm 3 weeks post op today, and I've gained 2 lbs! I'm like "Really?" Walking an hour a day on the treadmill. I'll admit I'm not getting enough Protein, and trying to get this 64 oz of Water in a day. I didn't expect this to be this hard. I envy those who it just seems effortless for the weight to come off. I'm also scared of eating the wrong thing. I feel like I should be in a bubble! Lol. Here's to hoping the weight will start coming off again soon!
  15. So I am officially on the "mash things with a fork" phase and my handout from my doctor was very vague on this phase. So what should I eat? What should I stay from? On the list was low fat casseroles... And I found a low fat tuna casserole with whole wheat noodles, and low fat, and low sodium ingredients, would this be okay??? I'm slightly freaking out because I don't want to go backwards in this phase. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    HELP! Soft food phase diet

I'm 3 weeks post op. And I know most of it is mental. My mind thinks I should still be eating what I ate before, and doesn't think that little bit will fill me up. So I've got to work on that. I've been eating nothing but talipia, and trying 3 oz of tuna with 2 teaspoons of light mayo today, along with 1 1/2 oz of baked Beans for lunch. I've just become worried because I see most people say that they are full after 5 or 6 bites of whatever they are eating, and that's not the case for me. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

    Texas Sleevers!

Have you found any support groups in our area?????
  19. So I'm a week and one day post op and have been doing my homework on what foods to have on the soft food phase, and then when I can resume eating regularly, and I've found some wonderful stuff, but for some reason I am terrified of failure. I'm scared I won't eat the right thing, or eat too much of the wrong thing thinking it's good when it's really not. I haven't been able to eat normal food in almost a month due to pre op requirements, so when I'm able to eat, I'm going to have to make myself not go crazy. I guess with this full liquid phase, I'll feel full when I eat / drink for right around two hours and then I'm hungry again, I guess I'm scared that will be the case once I start eating regular food and I'll start, what I call "grazing" again, and then this surgery would've been for nothing. Am I overthinking this? Is it normal to be this fearful only a week post op??

Scared I wont be able to do this

Yeah my doctor told me to not eat or drink 30 minutes before and after eating. I have to admit, it's realllllllllllllly hard because I've done it for so long. But it has to be done. I've also stopped losing weight these last few days, and it's really discouraged me. I was eating cream of wheat with mixed in flavorless Protein twice a day, along with Sugar Free chocolate pudding so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not.

Scared I wont be able to do this

Yes I got a food plan, but it's very vague. I'm tJust looking for recipes that have high protein and low carbs. I know that the longer time goes on, I'll learn more, I just have had this fear for awhile, but went ahead with the surgery anyway. I'm determined to make this work, but it just am scared because I NEED this to work. I paid out of pocket for this surgery LOL. I'm actively looking for a support group in my area, but haven't found one as of yet.

    Texas Sleevers!

I'm in League City, which is about 20 minutes from Galveston Island, and 30 minutes from Houston. Any support groups out this way???
  24. So my first doctors appointment is this next Tuesday 4/15 and since I'm doing cash pay I can have the surgery whenever I want. They've already told me I had to be on a 6 day liquid diet prior to surgery, so what has helped you guys the most???
