Week 2 stall?

Today is Day 12 - Post op... I've heard of stalls happening at weeks 3 & 4 but not week 2. I lost 14 pounds the first week after surgery and only 1 pound during week 2. The good news is that I haven't gained any. Has anybody had this happen before? The stall began when I started the full liquids (yogurt, pudding, soups). Related?

The other thing that concerns me is that it's been 9 days since I've had a BM. Normal for post - op?

Yes!!! Same thing happened to me I was thinking this it all I can loose!! Ha hay surgery 4-2 so I'm what 24 days out and I finally started dropping again yes!! Thank you God so happy I did increase my protein !!!

dsardinas.... you're not at a stall, you lost a pound!!! A stall is when the scale does not move at all. I hit my first stall at week 3 and have had a couple of them since. Other weeks I might lose one or two pounds.. As long as the scale is going down and not going up, I'm not going to complain. In the perfect world I would be losing 6 or 7 pounds per week but last time I checked this world was anything but perfect. Its hard to measure weight loss in the first couple of months...success is more visible over the first 6 months and I guarantee that you will have lost more in 6 months after WLS than in any other 6 month period. Good luck to you, I'm sure you will do fabulous.

I had a stall for 2 1/2 weeks a couple weeks after surg. Then lost about 5 lbs and stalled again and only 7 weeks. Down only 24 pounds

Not losing is ALWAYS better than gaining! But what's most important to remember is that your body is going through a lot of changes, and sometimes it takes it sometime to catch up with these changes. I did not stall in week 3 and 4.. I gained. Actually between weeks 3 and 6 I gained back everything I lost in the first 3 weeks! It was awful. I was having a lot of issues with going to the bathroom, getting my protien in and getting my Water in. I was really dehydrated. Once I got my body working like it should I started to lose again, and contiuned to lose until I was 9 months out, when I hit my first stall. That lasted 2 months. Two long months of seeing no changes on the scale. However, while i wasn't losing weight, I was losing inches like crazy! I dropped several inches and two dress sizes during those two months, without losing a pound. The number on the scale isn't the only important number to watch, so is your inches! So watch those too!!

You should really take something to get your bowels moving. Make sure you're getting your water and protien also... and move move move! Not only will walking and working out help with the weight loss it will also help move your bowels! And I hate to tell you this, but this won't be the only stall you have! You'll have more.
