Just banded today!

  • Popular Post

Got my band at about 8:00 this morning. So far I have a little pain, hospital all is giving me IV meds for that. My dr requires an overnight stay, so I will rest comfortably here tonight

I lost 15 pounds in my pre-op, and I'm excited to get started in my new life!

ecgreen that does sound like "wind" we say "gas pains" like Martha said get up and move arouund more, just around the house/flat a little more and sip your liquids...I know I didn't have much problems with that...but warm tea helped me alot on that!!! best wishes to you from across the sea!!!

Ecgreen, it does get better. I was banded Tuesday and was ready to rip it out of me because the pain was so bad. The walking really does work and time. I felt pretty good after 3 days.

Congrats ECGREEN! u did it.so the walking helps alot, tahnk God i have atreadmill, i intend to really work it!how's hte gas situation now? better i hope u have a great dya...stay in touch pzl!

Welcome to banded life...wind...Lol. Yes ECGREEN...it is definitely gas pains and walking is the best remedy. Also have someone give you karate chops across your shoulders to break it up.

Thanks for all the messages and support. The wind/gas has died down but I am getting sharp pain around my port site when I stand up straight. Is this normal or should I call my clinic?

Hi. I had my band fitted yesterday in uk. Am really sore today. Did anyone else get nasty back pain? Am hoping it is wind! Am excited for the future but am a wuss about pain?

I hope you feel better and take it easy

ecgreen my port was also quite sore for sometime after-but if you are concerned by all means contact the clinic!!! hope you to feel better soon.

ecgreen, I am having the same issue with my port. I was banded this past Friday (almost 4 days post-op now), and whenever I stand up I get a sharp pulling/burning feeling just below my port incision. I have no pain other than this so it is a bit unnerving. I'm giving it another day or two, as it does seem to be lessening a bit, but then I'm calling the doc since my appointment is not until a week from tomorrow. I'm certainly not happy that someone else is having this same pain, but relieved that I'm not alone, if that makes sense :) Please let us know how it goes.

Dawn

It is the 5th day from surgery now for me and the tugging feeling has more or less stopped. I think I was overdoing it bending and lifting. Have been walking more and reminding myself I have had surgery! Hope you feel better soon xx

ecgreen and chitownbander I am not sure where your ports are located, but mine is in my chest...my surgeon told me that they are sown into place into the muscle (in the chest at least)...so mine was sore for my first two months...then whenever I lay on my left side it gets sore too. not sure if that is what is happening to you...but it could be a question you ask your doctors. I hope you both get to feeling better...and CONGRATS and WELCOME to BANDLAND!!!

Mikee57, thank you for the info. My port is below the breast and in my belly area. Today there is a lot less burning/pulling and a lot more feeling like I did an hour long ab workout. So, my guess is that it's just muscle pain from the anchoring.

Congrats and welcome to your new life!!!
