Going back to work

I'm taking a week and 1/2. I'm returning on Monday. I feel great and have had a better than expected recovery. I also have an office job.

i took one week, worked from home the 2nd week. I wish I would have taken 3. It is very hard to plan full liquid diet at work. I didn't seem to have the time to drink all that I should. I got weak and had to go home early a couple days that 3rd week.

I am a para so my job involves a lot of walking. I returned to work after 2 weeks and I did fine. I was very tired at the end of the day. The second day back was much easier.

I should add that I was on the pureed stage by the time I returned. It would have been close to impossible to do it when on clears because I had so little energy.

How long was everyone off after surgery before they returned to work ?

the one thing we have in common is that we're all different :)

some/many have an easy recovery, not tired or any problems

they might have had surgery on thursday - back to work on monday

others might take one week, 2 weeks etc

many are verrrrry tired, weak post op, even though they have a desk job, they/you might want to take a little extra time off (if possible)

maybe ask your boss for 3 weeks to be on the safe side

you might feel well enough to go back in one week or two

or you might want to take the whole 3 weeks off

listen to your body :)

good luck

speedy recovery

I am a HS teacher. I will go back on the 8th day. I plan on taking it easy.
