I have done a lot of research on this weight loss stuff. I made a decision with my doctor last Friday that we would do the lap band. I have finished all of my tests (gastric, cardiology, nutritionist, psychiatric and nutritionist). So now we are waiting to hear from the insurance company. I hope they make a fast decision. I want to get this show on the road.

My insurance won't cover it, I will be a self pay. My first appointment with the doctor is next Tuesday.

Best of luck to you! One bandster was approved by her insurance in 2 days. Mine denied, I appealed, 8 months later they approved and I had my surgery. But most people don't have to wait that long. There's no way to tell how long your insurance co. will take to decide. Probably longer than you want, but then all of a sudden the wheels start turning very quickly.

You have to do what you have to do. It must be a blessing to have the money to pay for it. I dont want to go that route but my husband has said if I have to go ahead.
