Good for you! I remember being fearful of the scope- and it was so easy. Now I am 4 days from my surgery and it has all gone very quickly. Do you have to do a pre-op diet? If so, when does it start? When will your surgery be?

My surgey is april 9. I have a 5 day pre op diet. 3 slimfast a day and the rest clear liquids. What is yours like

I am so thankful that I did not have to do this. I wonder why they make you do it?

I meant the endoscopy. I had a 10 day liquid pre-op diet and I understand the shrinking the liver piece but I don't understand the endoscopy.

I had my surgery on the 24th of Feb. I did the EGD probably 3 weeks before my surgery. They were able to detect a bad bacteria called Pylori and I also had a hernia. I think that's why they do it. I was on medications for 2 weeks to get rid of it. I think that's why they do it, also for a piece of mind.

I also had hpylori that showed up when I had my EGD I am currently on my 2 weeks pre op diet and I know it will fly by. My surgery is scheduled March 19th :)
