Psoriasis remission?

Recommended Posts

I have not seen this posted anywhere else. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 2/5/14. I did lose 25 lbs prior. I have had psoriasis all my life in varying levels of lesions. Probably was at about 70% involvement as this is winter and the usual time for me to flare. Post op, very quickly I noticed my skin was improving. So much so I even thought my surgeon gave me steroids and I was worried for the rebound, but not the case. I continue to improve, I am at about 20-25%, with significant improvement! Any one else experience this after wls? I have lost 50 or more pounds in the past and have never ever had this type of response.

I have had numerous skin ailments in the past, including infections landing me in the hospital....used to see a Dermatologist on a regular 3 month basis....

Since dropping all my weight, I have very little troubles. simple over the counter cremes is all I need...

Have not seen my Dermatologist in over 2 years....

Many (but certainly not all) bariatric patients experience improvement of autoimmune diseases after surgery. What a wonderful side effect!

I've had psoriasis for many years and have also noticed diminished levels since surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
