New Pain

Hi. Surgery 1/27/14.

Today I have sharp pains on my left side. On the upper side and back under my ribs. Hurts if I use my left arm, bend. It's stabbing. It does reduce if I stay still.

I haven't had gas pains before. Can someone who has had gas pains describe it?

Yes several of us had it and it lasted 2-3 weeks and in your same time frame. We mostly blame it on the tissue healing along with your intestines having bowel in that area. As it moves it hurts your surgical tissue. Mine was so bad I cried and almost went to ER.

Any pain you should call you doctors office. There could be a multitude of reasons behind the pain.

I also have that! WIth extra symptoms that made me go to the ER yesterday. After 7 hours and many tests, they didn't find anything wrong with me. My extra symptoms were being freezing cold in bed which would wake me up because I was shaking so bad from the cold and stomach pains. I couldn't identify where the pains were coming from and the next day it felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. But, they ran an MRI and an ultrasound and they didn't find anything wrong. Nobody had mentioned that it could be normal. I love this website and everyone on it! THanks.
