  1. Oops Pushed send by accident. Anyways, trying to figure out if I'm as alone as I feel.
  2. Hi all 1/27/14 Physically doing good. Is anyone having issues with depression? I'm bipolar. Have been all my life. I was on meds prior to surgery and doing okay. I'm still on my meds. I feel like the bipolar is still under control but the depression has gotten pretty bad. My shrink retired in May. I got upset with my therapist right before surgery and hadn't gone back. I started to realize the signs. I saw the wls therapist. She wanted me to start going to support groups. Appt with a new shrink to go over my meds, maybe adjust dosage due to weightloss but not until October. Appt with therapist next week. Trying to figu

    HELP- Is this normal?

Every one is different. My surgery was 1/27/14. I wasn't released to work out till 4 wks. My incision at my belly button is the last one to heal. When I sit, my waistband irritates it. I wear a tank top tucked it everyday to help.

    HELP- Is this normal?

Took 6 weeks for me too
  6. How do you change your protein to over 90 on MFP? I only figured out how to reduce my calorie goal
  7. According to my fitness pal, my vitamins are 50 calories. I'm supposed to stay under 600 calories. I only just entered my supplements to calculate the calories. I'm really hoping I don't have to count them. Anybody know? (6 weeks post op)
  8. I got a reply from my NUT. Yep she counts them. I'm starting my 7th week and dr. Recommends 400-600 calories. She looked at my fitness pal and told me I shouldn't go all the way to 600 every day. I'm having difficulty figuring out how to meet 70-80 grams of protein with 500 calories (+50 calories of supplements). I'm getting tired of shakes, I like my morning shake (premier vanilla with a cup of frozen fruit) but I can only drink 1/2 so, 108 cal, 15 grams protein. The idea and taste of the 2nd 1/2 for a snack makes me nauseous. I also wish peanut butter wasn't on my "allowed" list. I LOVE peanut butter and my pouch likes it too. I've made my own version Thai peanut chicken with baked chicken breast, Jif reduced fat (not reduced enough) crunchy peanut butter and a little water. Mmm. I haven't tried PB2 yet, I hope I'll like it so I can stop wanting Jif. Sorry for rambling...

    HELP- Is this normal?

My pain like that was constipation. I described it as a knife inside twisting its way out. My PA put me on clear fiber three times a day and three colase before bed. Check with your doctor.
  10. I all. I'm having major difficulties having a BM. I can't take MOM (violently ill) I do take colase 3 times a day. When I don't "go" for two + days, I get backed up and it causes a lot of pain on my left side. I spoke to my surgeon's PA and she says my symptoms are constipation and I have an appt next Tuesday. I just don't know what to do until then. I'm on soft foods. I get in about 5-6 cups of water plus 2 cups protein shake (premier). I was putting banana in my shake but stopped Monday. All in all, the foods I eat (not in one day) are tuna, hard boiled egg white, chicken, mashed potato or sweet potato, canned green beans, SF jello, SF Popsicles, NF vanilla Greek yogurt, refried beans (stopped Monday). Any ideas of a soft food that will help me go?
  11. Hi again 4 weeks, 5 days post-op My incisions are healing great. Surgeon said they look good and I can wash them more thoroughly in the shower. I have 6 incisions. For 1, the scab already fell off. The others, the scabs are ItChY. I forgot to ask him if I can use anything to stop it. I don't want to accidentally scratch and make things worse. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do? PS, I hope everyone is doing good/great.

    Itchy

I was just hoping there was something to put on that'd help the itching. But you all are correct, PA said not to put anything. I am wearing a tank top tucked in because the waist band of my pants were irritating 3 of my incisions. The tank top helps. I'm glad to hear that it'll pass. Thanks

    Itchy

Well darn Thanks for letting me know.
  16. Is anyone finding it hard to meet calorie/protein goals once returning to work? I started back this past Monday. I bring my breakfast shake, snack shake, rf cheese, some type of lean protein (been on a salmon kick) But at the end of the day, I realize I haven't finished my snack protein drink, or drank enough water in between, or finish my lunch (the lean protein). At home, it was easy, followed a schedule. But now, not so much. I drive 35 min to and from, work 7:30am-5:00, but while at work, never routine. I work in an office, take calls as they come, see appts and walk-ins. It's really hard to remember its time for h2o or time to eat, especially if I'm talking to or seeing a client. Anybody else?

    Friday Weigh-In!

HW 333 (4/28/13) SW 239 (1/27/14) CW 216 (haven't lost in 6 days, but it's that evil girlie time of the month, so no worries)
  18. Thanks everyone My PA suggested some of the same... FiberSmart clear Fiber 3x a day with glass of h2o Colase 300 mg each night (I got rite aid generic) Miralax only if I skip 3 days Some prescription I pick up Friday that's only for emergency if I skip 6 days- it's strong and will also cause dehydration (so I'm hoping I won't need it) At least 64 ounces of liquid (which I was already doing) Increased walking, (which I've only been allowed to start the treadmill this past monday.) So...I took my first FiberSmart/h2o and 300 mg of colase. I sure hope I can go tonight or in the am! The joys of bypass Maybe when I go, I'll lose a pound or two
  19. Kcamp, Have you contacted your nutritionist, or surgery nurse support? I have the exact opposite, I eat the same things you listed, take colase 2-3 times a day and I have difficulty going. I get constipated, cramps and have to wait up to 2-3 days till I'm able to go. My surgeon's PA suggested the colase, but it hasn't helped yet. I have an appt next Tuesday. Hope you find something that helps.
  20. OMG, I've been sick for almost 2 hours. Figures, my recovery has improved, I start back to work tomorrow and my body is making me feel like I should be dying. Nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, foamies (as I've seen it explained here). Ugh! Those of you who've been through this, I'm sorry, I had no idea how bad it is. Those of you who haven't, I hope you never do!
  21. Thanks I feel better today, I only did protein shakes and yogurt today to give my pouch a break. It's weird, I had eaten it last week and was fine.

Hi, I'll ask my nut at my next appt, but how far out are you when you start to eat the protein bars? I'm just starting soft, 4 weeks post-op.
